Consulting and Arborist Reports

Independent assessments tailored for planning, compliance, and peace of mind.

Expert guidance and professional advice to support the long-term health, safety, and resilience of your trees

Arboricultural reports provide valuable insights into the health and condition of your trees, helping you make informed decisions about their care and management. Our AQF Level 5 and Level 8 arborists can provide a variety of reports that outline recommended actions to keep your trees in the best condition possible. These are particularly important when you are undertaking construction works in close proximity to existing trees.

When you might need a report:

  • In support of or in dispute of a Tree Activity Application
  • Tree Management Plans (TMPs) for building and development applications
  • For peace of mind
  • To support a nomination for the ACT Tree Register
  • Where a tree bond is being imposed
  • For insurance purposes
  • Tree management over a long period of time—we can provide clear guidance on how to care for and maintain the health of your trees.
  • Risk mitigation

Types of reports we deliver

Guidance Notes:

A brief document outlining the results of a tree inspection/consultation. Guidance Notes provide you with documented records, including photographs and recommendations for ongoing management. Guidance notes can be useful for home owners, body corporates or commercial clients where a full arboricultural report is not necessary, but written findings provided by a consulting arborist are required.

VALID Tree Risk-Benefit Reports

VALID is an industry-accepted tree-risk benefit assessment method. As trained VALIDators, our team can conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of a tree (or trees). VALID categorises risks in one of three ways – Acceptable, Not Acceptable or Tolerable/Not Tolerable. If the risk is found as unacceptable, we will work with you to mitigate the risk to an acceptable level.

VALID reports are concise, easy to read 1-2 page documents that make the complex world of tree risk assessment accessible to anyone.

Tree Management Plans (TMPs)

TMPs are crucial on any development project, no matter how big or small, where protected trees and/or trees marked for retention may be impacted by the development. In the ACT, a TMP is compulsory for Building Applications and Development Applications where there are protected trees on site. Our TMPs are tailored to suit the needs of the specific site, and provide practical and effective protection measures.

Arboriculture Impact Assessments (AIAs)

AIAs consider how a proposed development may impact existing trees. An AIA will identify and map trees on a site, and provide an assessment of their condition and retention value, and the potential impact they face. These reports are crucial for developers when finalising plans for their site. Our team can help you through the process, with a thorough understanding of tree regulations in the ACT, and an underlying desire to think outside the box on tree protection matters.

Tree Inventories

Do you manage a large site with multiple trees? Tree Inventory Reports can be a useful tool for property managers. Our consulting arborists will catalogue all trees on site, assessing important information including species, condition and protection status, as well as highlighting any recommended works.
